In the knees-to-chest stretch you should lie down on a mat and then pull one of your knees till your chest. Hold it till you complete 15 seconds. Release the knee, relax for 5 seconds and repeat with the other knee. Take your time to do this exercise and make sure to complete 10 to 15 rounds in each knee. This exercise will help you in improving your low-back ranges of motion. It will also help you in healing your discs but you need to be cautious if you have a disc injury.
In the gentle spine twist you need to lie on your back on a mat and fold your two knees. Make sure to keep your feet flat on the ground. Then gently bend both your knees to one of your sides and hold the position for 15 seconds. Keep breathing. Come back on your original position and repeat on your other side the same way. Make sure that you also keep your shoulders tight or firm to the ground while you are doing this exercise. Repeat this stretch exercise once or twice in a day. This exercise will help you to restore the natural motions in your spinal areas.
In the cat cow stretch exercise, you need to position yourself by bending your knees and placing your palms flat on the ground. Make sure to keep your knees right below your hips. Then inhale, soften your stomach muscles, and lift your head and your tailbone slowly to form a cow shape. After this exhale, pull your abs muscles towards your spine and round your spine. Then tuck in your tailbone and your chin towards your chest to form a cat posture.
Keep breathing deeply and repeat this stretch exercise and continue going from the cow to the cat posture. You need to repeat this exercise for a minute and then put down your hips on your heels. Follow these steps very slowly as this can be a good warm up exercise for the other stretches.
Apart from these exercises you can go for walking, stationary cycling and pool or water therapy where there is less stress on the spine. A word of caution while doing these exercises is that you must do these stretches only under the presence of a good physiotherapist or a family member. Never attempt it all by yourself as you can end up hurting yourself.
