This is not a contagious disease and exact causes of this condition remain unknown. It is an auto immune disease which is influenced by genetic, environmental factors and infections. Conjunctivitis is a medical condition of eyes in which eyes become red and swollen. Watering eyes along with irritability are also commonly observed.

Conjunctivitis is also a contagious condition though the Kawasaki disease is not. Blurring of vision due to eye discharge and water is also normal symptom of this situation.

Fever

Continuous high fever  higher than 101.3 F is the distinct character of Kawasaki disease. It may persistently carry on from one week into another. Medicines will only temporarily alleviate it and it will strike back with full vengeance as soon as the affect of the pills wear off.

Irritability, lack of focus and disorientation may be the fall out of this condition along with general weakness. Apart from these symptoms severe Diarrhoea, nausea coupled with vomiting is also commonly experienced with this condition. One must also keep a look out on the rashes at any part of the body.

Patient of this disease experiences extreme dryness without any apparent reason. Cracked lips which may begin to peel off in the second stage of this disease are observed. The tongue may show “strawberry symptom” which is basically extremely red tongue inflicted with dryness and swelling. The tongue may also develop white coating or patches with red bumps that make it resemble the covering of the strawberry.

Swelling of lymph nodes in multiple parts of the body is a common symptom of Kawasaki disease. Lymph nodes are mostly located in the head and neck area and therefore experiencing strep throat, runny nose and respiratory infections resembling symptoms of common cough and cold is widely reported. The patient may also experience swelling in the neck and throat due to swelling in then lymph nodes.

Kawasaki disease is an extremely painful and uncomfortable medical condition. In the second phase of this disease, the patient may go through either the bouts or continuous joint and abdominal pain with a lot of weakness in the body. The abdominal pain is caused by swelling of lymph nodes and indigestion which is consequence of other symptoms.
